About Hambilton Engineering Ltd/Hymerdirect

Peter Hambilton has been involved with Hymers for over twenty two years now; first as Workshop Foreman for Madisons and then, for the last twenty years, as proprietor of Hambilton Engineering which has recently gone limited. He attended the very first Hymer training course at Bad Waldsee and then, when Hymer bought out Niesmann, Bischoff and Clou, attended a further training course in 1998 to gain relevant certification for those marques too. He holds a City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Technician's Certificate as well as national certificates for auto-electrical work, diesel engine work, welding and air brakes etc. Hambilton Engineering is an insurance approved accident repair centre and we are also approved to supply, fit and repair Electrolux products.

One of our greatest assets is Dave Morris, whom some of you will know from his eleven years at Madisons. Dave is a carpenter by trade; serving seven years at Lunar Caravans before working for Madisons. A total perfectionist, his motto is that any work that is not up to factory standard is completely unacceptable. This reflects the ethos of the Company as a whole, which prides itself in a standard of workmanship equal to that of Hymer.

To cope with our ever increasing workload we have recently taken on Allan Blackstock. A former aircraft technician, Allan is also a motorhome owner and enthusiast. He is well skilled in general fabrication and is already proving a real boon to the Company.

The Hymer Sales part of our business is a relatively new one that first came about from one or two customers asking us to sell vehicles on their behalf. Now we hold a running stock of several used vehicles, keeping a constant eye out for bargains in the UK as well as on the European Mainland. All sold vehicles leave our premises fully valeted and with full MOT, full PDI, and three months' warranty.
